Protecting Children & Young People’s Mental Health
This is a live briefing considering the impact of COVID-19 on children and young people’s mental health, and the services that support them. The Coalition and its members are committed to supporting evidence-based approach in responding to COVID-19, and ensure we protect against a public health crisis during, and in the wave of the pandemic.
We hope this briefing is useful in orienting what the impacts of COVID-19 might be on children and young people, and assist you in thinking through your own policy, advocacy, practical or operational responses.
If you, or your organisation, would like to contribute to future versions of this briefing please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will add you into the drafting group.
The Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition brings together leading charities to campaign jointly on the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.
At any one time, 1 in 10 children and young people have a diagnosable mental health problem, and it is well established that most adolescent and adult mental illness can be traced back to childhood.
Addressing issues early helps individuals and society – that message needs a powerful voice.
